Calling Canadians “invaders”, pro-Khalistan supporters took out a big rally in Surrey recently where they claimed they are now the owners of Canada and asked “white people” to “go back to England and Europe”.
In a short video clip that has gone viral, the Khalistanis can be seen taking out a rally on a road and shouting that they are the real Canadians.
The video shows dozens of men and women waving Khalistani flags while a few members are heard shouting “white people should go back to Europe and Israel”.
The rally allegedly started out as a Nagar Kirtan procession but quickly devolved into a protest as participants were heard making inflammatory remarks.
One person can be heard shouting: “This is our country, we are the owners of Canada. We are proud Canadians. Go back to Europe, go back to England. You are not Canadians. We are Canadians. You are invaders. You White people go back to Europe.”
The remarks made by the pro-Khalistan members come amid heightened tensions between India and Canada, particularly following the assassination of Hardeep Singh Nijjar, a Khalistani sympathiser designated as a terrorist by India. This incident has exacerbated existing strains in diplomatic relations, with accusations flying between the two nations regarding support for separatist movements.
The incident also comes days after a violent altercation erupted at the Hindu Sabha temple in Brampton, when pro-Khalistani protesters attacked Hindu devotees during a consular event.
The incident escalated as demonstrators, reportedly armed with sticks and flags, clashed with attendees, leading to physical assaults.
Inderjeet Gosal, the alleged organiser of the protest, was arrested and charged with assault with a weapon following the chaos. The attack has drawn widespread condemnation from Canadian politicians and community leaders, including Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and PM Narendra Modi, who labeled the incident a “deliberate attack” on the Hindu community.
