NEW DELHI: In a surprising turn of events, a cybercriminal pretending to be a Mumbai Police officer mistakenly video-called Thrissur police cyber cell officer, trying to make him his next target.
In a video posted by the Thrissur police, the fraudster appeared in police uniform, claiming to be from Mumbai’s police force. Initially, the officer kept his camera off, responding to the query “Where are you?” by replying, “My camera is not working properly, sir.” However, the fraudster realised his mistake when the officer switched on his camera.

The officer then firmly told the fraudster, “Stop doing this work. I have your address, your location, and everything. This is cyber cell. It’s best if you stop doing this work.”
The video went viral within hours on social media platforms and garnered over two lakh views.
