NEW DELHI: Russia is set to host the Brics Summit in October this year in Kazan, with anticipation building for the participation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
During Prime Minister Modi’s recent visit to Moscow, Russian Ambassador to India Denis Alipov highlighted the significance of the visit in terms of addressing global and regional issues, as well as strengthening bilateral ties.
Ambassador Alipov spoke about the extensive nature of Indo-Russian relations, citing ongoing and prospective collaborations in sectors such as oil & gas, defense, and culture.
“We have welcomed the Prime Minister in Russia. This visit is significant in terms of discussing global matters and regional matters, most of all in terms of reviewing bilateral relationships which are very extended,” said Ambassador Alipov. He expressed optimism about the upcoming Brics Summit and reaffirmed Russia’s commitment to continuing the annual exchange of summits, a tradition upheld for the past two decades.
“We expect the PM to come in for the Brics summit also,” Ambassador Alipov added.

The Brics Summit in Kazan will provide a platform for leaders from member countries – including Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa – to discuss key global issues, economic cooperation, and strategic partnerships.
