NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s official ‘X‘ (formerly Twitter) account, @narendramodi, has crossed the 100 million follower milestone, cementing his position as one of the most followed world leaders on the platform.
As of July 14, PM Modi‘s account boasts an impressive 100 million followers, placing him among the top 10 most followed accounts globally. This achievement comes as no surprise, given PM Modi’s widespread popularity and active engagement with his supporters through social media.
Compared to other prominent serving world leaders, PM Modi’s follower count far surpasses that of US President Joe Biden, who has around 38 million followers on the platform.
Former US president Barack Obama, however, has 131 million followers. The list is topped by Elon Musk, who has 188.7 million followers.
The growth of PM Modi’s ‘X’ following has been a gradual but steady process, with the account gaining millions of new followers over the years since its inception in 2009. This massive online presence allows the PM to directly communicate with his constituents, share updates on government initiatives, and amplify his political messaging.
