Mumbai Weather Live Updates: Heavy rains have battered Mumbai with the city recording over 300 mm of rainfall at several places in just six hours from 1 am to 7 am today. Several trains were diverted and many others were cancelled following heavy rains, the Central Railways said. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation is working to clear waterlogging across the city.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for Mumbai, Thane, Palghar and the Konkan belt. Vikhroli’s Veer Savarkar Marg Municipal School and MCMCR Powai saw the highest rainfall in the last 24 hours and over 315 mm of rainfall was recorded. Water-logging was reported from Worli, Buntara Bhavan, in Kurla East, King’s Circle area of Mumbai, Dadar and Vidyavihar Railway Station.

“The situation created due to the heavy rain falling in Mumbai was reviewed today by going to the disaster management room at the Mumbai Municipal Corporation headquarters.
On this occasion, Guardian Minister of Mumbai Deepak Kesarkar, Guardian Minister of Mumbai Suburbs Mangalprabhat Lodha, Commissioner of Mumbai Municipal Corporation Bhushan Gagrani, Additional Commissioner Abhijit Bangar, Sudhakar Shinde and all the officials of the Disaster Management Unit of the Corporation were present,” he said

Maharashtra Chief Minister appeals to people in Mumbai to not leave home if not necessary as rain, waterlogging paralyses city
A car was rescued after it was stuck on a flooded road in Mumbai’s Malad for over eight hours. Due to heavy rain at 5 am, the car got stuck in a subway. The driver was pulled out of the car but the car was submerged. When the water levels went down, the car was taken out.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted, “Moderate spells of rainfall in city and suburbs” over the next few hours.

Due to heavy rains in Raigad district, Raigad Fort has been closed for tourists from today. Chitta Darwaza and Nane Darwaza roads leading to Raigad Fort have been closed by barricading. Police force has been deployed. Also, the tourists who are currently at Raigad Fort are being taken out from the fort via z ropeway.
