NEW DELHI: Yuvraj Singh on Wednesday shared a video, which went viral in quick time, that captured a fan’s impressive attempt at mimicking his iconic cricket shots played over the years.
The fan flawlessly recreated Yuvraj’s signature style, from his famous pull shots to his powerful sixes, earning widespread admiration online.
Yuvraj, who was known for his powerful and elegant batting, especially his memorable six sixes in an over, was clearly impressed, giving the fan a shoutout on social media.
“Close enough? Or the same?,” Yuvraj captioned the video on social media platform ‘X’

The video has resonated with fans, sparking nostalgia and reminding cricket lovers of Yuvraj’s legendary moments on the field. His fans appreciated the gesture, celebrating the enduring impact of his legacy.
Earlier in the day, the BCCI shared a video clip featuring young Indian batter Abhishek Sharma, who reflected on his arrival at Kingsmead, Durban. This venue holds special significance as it’s where the first T20I against South Africa will be played and also where Abhishek’s mentor, Yuvraj Singh, famously hit England’s Stuart Broad for six sixes in an over during the 2007 T20 World Cup.

Abhishek expressed his excitement about playing at the historic ground where one of Indian cricket’s most iconic moments took place, highlighting the deep influence Yuvraj’s achievement has had on his own cricketing journey.
“I have come here for the first time, but when I saw it (the ground) on TV and now that I am here, it’s like a dream come true. I was inspired by Yuvraj Singh’s six sixes in 2007. The first day when I came here I was trying to figure out from what end to which end he had hit the sixes. He had sixes all over the ground, it’s a great memory,” said Abhishek, while looking around the ground, in the video.
