CNN asked some 10-year-olds what do they think about the two presidential candidates — Donald Trump and Kamala Harris and described the responses as “jarring”. Though CNN did not identify the students or the schools their experts visited, the videos are all over the internet now raising questions over the necessity of such a drive in the first place.
In the video, one child was asked to tell the first word that pops into his head hearing the name Kamala Harris.”Liar,” the child said. Another child was asked the same question but about Donald Trump. She said, “Pure evil”.
“Which one do you think is more selfish?” To this question, a child pointed towards Kamala Harris and said, “Girls are a little bit dramatic sometimes.”
“Donald Trump has given his life and his heart,” one child said.

“Kamala even shook hands with Mr. Trump to greet him before the debate started which is pretty kind when you’re going against your opponent,” another said.
“The findings are the result of more than 40 hours of interviews commissioned by CNN’s “Anderson Cooper 360” to talk politics with 80 elementary schoolers in Arizona, a 2024 battleground state; New Jersey, a blue state; and Texas, a red state,” the CNN said. The exercise was done with the approval of their parents.
Most kids in the study, more than 80% overall, in both the red and blue states said the country is ready for its president to be a woman of color. “It would be good for us to have a Black woman as president for the first time in history, but my vote’s kind of still on Trump,” said one girl.
“For this project, Asheley Landrum, an associate professor, child development expert and media psychologist at Arizona State University, worked with Stanford University political science professor Shanto Iyengar, who has already studied polarization in American teens. Landrum asked the elementary schoolers a series of questions, using photographs and visual prompts, to understand how the children feel about the political system,” the CNN report said.
“The kids always know,” Donald Trump Jr commented on the kid calling Kamala Harris ‘liar’.
