Meghan Markle may fly to the UK this Christmas first time after 2022 since the late Queen’s funeral as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have received an invitation for the same — but not from the Buckingham Palace — from Charles Spencer, the brother of late Princess Diana. Harry and Meghan have not received any invitation to join the Royal Family at their annual Sandringham gathering, and it’s unlikely that they would either get one or accept one — amid intense speculations over Harry’s yearning to get back to the Palace.
Harry and Meghan were not there in last year’s Christmas celebration of the Royal Family. They were also excluded from the summer summit this year. But Harry and Meghan’s relationship with Diana’s family remains intact and Harry visited Althorp House during his UK trip last week to attend the memorial service of Lord Robert Fellowes, Diana’s brother-in-law.
The memorial service was attended by the estranged brothers though they did not speak with each other. Reports claimed the Spencers were playing a significant role in bringing the two brothers closer as both the brothers are close to Diana’s family. The meeting came amid reports that Harry was believed to have reached out to his old pals to eke out a way back to the UK. Royal family experts said there is no way that William and Kate Middleton would welcome back Harry and Meghan to the family — and their fear is justified as no one knows when what they said would become part of a memoir or a series.
Prince William is believed to be in no mood to reconcile with Harry and Meghan and, in fact, he wants to sever all ties with them showing no leniency like King Charles. No invitation will be extended to Harry and Meghan when William becomes the king, it has been reported.
