NEW DELHI: The Reserve Bank of India on Tuesday announced that the RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das has received an “A+” rating in the Global Finance Central Banker Report Cards 2024 for the second consecutive year.
According to a statement released by the Global Finance Central Banker Report Cards 2024, the central bankers who have earned an A+ grade are:

  1. Denmark: Christian Kettel Thomsen
  2. India: Shaktikanta Das
  3. Switzerland: Thomas Jordan

Global Finance founder and editorial director Joseph Giarraputo said: “Central bankers have waged war against inflation over the past few years, wielding their primary weapon: higher interest rates.Now, countries around the world are witnessing the tangible results of these efforts, as inflation has dropped significantly.”
The Global Finance magazine has been publishing the Central Banker Report Cards every year since 1994. These report cards assess the performance of central bank governors from close to 100 important countries, territories, and districts. Additionally, they evaluate the European Union, the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank, the Bank of Central African States, and the Central Bank of West African States.
The central bank governors are graded on a scale ranging from “A+” to “F” based on their achievements in various aspects such as inflation control, economic growth goals, currency stability and interest rate management.
“Global Finance’s annual Central Banker Report Cards honor those bank leaders whose strategies outperformed their peers through originality, creativity and tenacity,” the founder added.
