Prince William and Kate Middleton are “disgusted” as Harry is about to receive a massive $8.5 million inheritance as he will turn 40 on September 15. They feel that Harry’s share is “undeserved” given the recent tensions within the royal family, an insider told Closer.
While this windfall could have been a cause for celebration, it has instead become a source of tension within the royal family, particularly between Harry and his older brother, Prince William.
Thanks to the arrangements made by his late great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth. This payout is part of a $90 million trust fund she established for her family, with Harry’s share becoming accessible according to stipulations.
However, rather than bringing the brothers closer together, this inheritance has reportedly deepened the divide.
An insider told Closer that William is “disgusted” by the situation, particularly as Harry stands to gain millions without contributing to royal duties.
Sources close to the royal family reveal that Prince William, has expressed frustration over the idea that Harry will be receiving millions despite having stepped back from royal duties in 2020. According to insiders, William believes that Harry’s actions—particularly his public criticism of the royal family—do not warrant such a generous payout.
One source added,“William’s pretty disgusted that once again Harry’s going to be cashing out and taking millions back to his Montecito home without lifting a finger for it,” adding that William believes Harry’s payout is a reward for what he sees as “terrible treatment” of the family.
“William and Kate don’t trust Harry or Meghan one bit, so the idea that Harry’s now cashing in on his great-granny’s inheritance leaves a very bitter taste in their mouths,” they added.
Since then, the couple has engaged in several high-profile projects in the US, boosting their net worth to approximately $60 million, while also publicly criticising the royal family that only deepened the rift with Harry’s relatives.
Although Harry’s inheritance from the Queen Mother’s trust fund is significant, it is not anywhere close to what William received on his own 40th birthday.
Harry’s upcoming birthday and the accompanying inheritance have reignited discussions about the rift between the brothers. While William may feel powerless to prevent Harry from receiving his share, the situation has only served to highlight the growing divide between the two.
