The Trump family on Thursday presented a united front at the Republican National Convention, with his wife Melania Trump, daughter Ivanka Trump, and other family members joining the former US President on stage.
Despite past uncertainties about their political future, the family’s presence at the event solidified their central role in the Republican Party.
After concluding his speech on the final night of the RNC, Trump was accompanied on stage by his wife Melania, daughter Ivanka, sons Donald Jr and Eric, and grandchildren..
Melania’s appearance marked a rare public moment for the former first lady, who had not been actively involved in the campaign or accompanied her husband to court appearances related to the Stormy Daniels hush money case. The former first lady’s only public moments included standing behind Trump while he signed his official nomination paperwork.
Unlike her speeches at the 2016 and 2020 conventions, Melania did not address the audience this year. Her limited campaign involvement has garnered attention, particularly in light of recent events. As Donald Trump concluded his lengthy speech, Melania joined him on stage, sharing an awkward kiss and holding hands amidst falling balloons.
Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner, who held influential positions in the Trump White House, were notably absent from Donald Trump’s 2022 campaign announcement.
Ivanka, a 42-year-old mother of three, had introduced her father at the previous two conventions and served as a senior adviser during his presidency. However, she stated early on that she would not be involved in this campaign, instead focusing on her family life and refraining from making appearances on the campaign trail.
