As the morale is drooping in Joe Biden‘s campaign with many prominent Democrats withdrawing support from Biden, the chair of the campaign Jen O’Malley Dillon has sternly asked the staff to tune our “crazy f***ing gossip land world”, according to an audio recording of an all-hand call, reported by Axios.
In the call, the chair said the last two weeks had been vert very bad.”I told you I’d level with you, they’ve been bad f***ing weeks,” she said. “This two week window has really sucked, and it is hard, there is no doubt about it. And it’s hard for all of us because we are doing the job,” she said.
Dillon said Biden‘s top political adviser Mike Donilon has been saying since the debate that he never saw a presidential candidate who have more thrown at him than Joe Biden. “Do you know what Joe Biden does every day? He gets up and keep fighting,” Dillon said quoting Donilon.
“If we can get through these two weeks that we’re living through, we can get through anything,” Biden’s campaign chair said. She said there was a little bit of slippage after the debate but there was “nothing significant, nothing massive, no bottom falling out”.
“What you are seeing in the public polling in the last couple days is what we are seeing in our polls. What we are seeing is that this is still a margin of error race,” she said.
Amid pressure to opt out of the race, Biden said he will not bow out of the contest as he is certain that he can defeat Donald Trump. Hollywood has been turning the heat on Biden with George Clooney writing a stinging piece in the New York Times urging Biden to drop out of the race as he wrote Biden can’t win this time — he is not the Biden of 2020.
