Hollywood director and Democratic Party donor Rob Reiner called for President Joe Biden stepping down the presidential race. He said it’s time to stop f***ing around because if Donald Trump wins the election, America loses its democracy. “It’s time to stop f—ing around. If the Convicted Felon wins, we lose our Democracy. Joe Biden has effectively served US with honor, decency, and dignity. It’s time for Joe Biden to step down,” Reiner posted on X.
The Harry Met Sally director, a staunch critic of Trump, has been sharing his thoughts post the CNN debate on social media. The debate was a disaster, he admitted as he trained his gun at Trump.
“Last night’s debate was a disaster for President Biden. But the choice is still crystal clear: We either can choose a good decent man who cares about his fellow citizens and knows how to govern, or a Convicted Felon who will destroy our Democracy. Not a tough choice,” Rob Reiner posted after the debate.

Quoting writer Rick Wilson, Reiner said everything Trump touches dies and so will be the fate of democracy in America. “If the Convicted Felon becomes President, this will be the last Independence Day that we will be independent,” Reiner’s July 4 message read.
Rob Reiner joins the list of Hollywood personalities and Democratic donors who have asked Biden to step away from the race. Disney heir Abigail Disney, granddaughter of Walt Disney co-founder Roy Disney, threatened that she would not provide funding to the party until Biden drops out of the race.
“I intend to stop any contributions to the party unless and until they replace Biden at the top of the ticket. This is realism, not disrespect. Biden is a good man and has served his country admirably, but the stakes are far too high,” she told CNBC.
“If Biden does not step down, the Democrats will lose. Of that I am absolutely certain,” Abigail said. “The consequences for the loss will be genuinely dire.”
Netflix co-founder Reed Hastings, Endeavor CEO Ari Emanual, IAC chairman Barry Diller earlier said they would withdraw support from Biden.
