PUNE: Probationary IAS officer Puja Khedkar‘s private Audi A4, which had a a beacon and “Maharashtra Govt” insignia, was issued 21 challans – worth Rs 26,000 – for traffic violations previously, Pune ACP Manoj Patil said.
The challans, issued for acts of violation like over-speeding, jumping signal and refusal to stop when asked by the police, are pending clearance since 2022.”Traffic police have generated one more challan with a fine of Rs 500 for the use of a beacon light and ‘Maharashtra Govt’ insignia on the car,” Patil said.
“The car used by Khedkar is registered in the name of a company – Thermoverita Engineering Private Limited,” he added. Pune RTO officials said that the car was registered on Jan 27, 2012.
Inspector Shafil Pathan, said, “Notice has been issued in the name of Puja Khedkar as she was using the car. It was confirmed by video evidence we collected from the DC office. Also, there are videos available on various online news portals. We have asked her to bring the car with its registration papers to the traffic division office for verification and legal action.”
