Mysore to Darbhanga Bhagmati Express on Friday collided with a stationary goods train near Kavaraipettai railway station in Tamil Nadu. Few coaches were derailed, and a fire broke out in coaches of the express train.
Rescue operations by local authorities are currently underway. Further details regarding the extent of the damage and casualties are still awaited.

- After crossing the Ponneri signal, the train collided with the
goods train - The collision caused a heavy jerk, leading to the derailment
- The train was reportedly travelling at around 90 km/hr before it switched lines that may have resulted in the crash
- Both UP and DOWN train movements have been stopped
