NEW DELHI: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued alerts for widespread heavy rainfall across southern and central India in the coming days. According to IMD forecasts, isolated extremely heavy rainfall is expected over Konkan & Goa and the Ghat areas of Madhya Maharashtra from July 14th to 16th. Coastal Karnataka and South Interior Karnataka are likely to experience heavy rains on July 14th and 15th, while Kerala & Mahe are forecasted to witness significant rainfall on July 15th.
The IMD further stated that the monsoon is set to remain active over Peninsular and adjoining central India over the next 4-5 days, raising concerns about potential flooding and waterlogging in affected regions.Officials urge residents and authorities to stay vigilant and take necessary precautions during this period of heightened rainfall activity.
