JAMMU: A Haryana native, Anil Kumar, was on Thursday remanded in ED custody for five days by a Jammu court a day after the probe agency arrested him in connection with the paper leak in the 2022 J&K Service Selection Board (JKSSB) sub-inspector recruitment examination, officials said.
The exam was held on March 27, 2022, but was cancelled in July by J&K administration, following allegations of paper leak and malpractices.
The probe was handed over to CBI, which filed a chargesheet against 33 accused, including Yadav, on Nov 12, 2022. The ED case originates from the CBI FIR and chargesheet.
According to ED spokesperson, Yadav executed a well-devised plan involving touts based in Haryana and J&K, who arranged candidates willing to pay between Rs 15 lakh and Rs 30 lakh to access the leaked paper.
The ED had earlier attached Yadav’s bank accounts, a company called New Global Fumigation Corporation and assets of some others worth Rs 1 crore as part of its probe.
