MUMBAI: Paytm, operated by One97 Communications, has received approval from the National Payments Corporation of India to onboard new users on its UPI application. NPCI had restricted Paytm from onboarding new UPI users in Feb 2024 due to regulatory concerns. After a review of Paytm’s compliance with regulatory guidelines and protocols, NPCI has it granted permission to resume onboarding new users.The approval is conditional on Paytm’s continued adherence to NPCI’s guidelines.
