Republican Vice Presidential nominee JD Vance has said that he won’t be needing any pre-forum boot camp or crash course for next week’s debate against his rival Tim Walz.
In a press call with The Post, Vance claimed that he did not need to prepare that much as he had well-developed views on public policy.
He said, “What we’re going to focus on is that I make as concise and direct an appeal to the American people as possible about Donald Trump’s successful policies and Kamala Harris’ failed policies.”
“Kamala Harris’ record is one of unadorable groceries, unaffordable housing and Americans who are losing their jobs.So I don’t think we have to prepare that much because we don’t have to hide our record from the American people — we just have to talk about it,” Vance added.
Unlike Vance, Walz will participate in a “multiday debate camp” in rural Michigan this week to prepare for his face-off against Vance, as reported by the New York Times.
Donald Trump’s running mate, JD Vance, and Kamala Harris’ vice presidential pick, Tim Walz, are set to debate on October 1, hosted by CBS.
Both President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris also dedicated extensive time to preparing for their debates against former President Donald Trump.
Both Walz and Vance are practising with mock debates to prepare for their upcoming showdown.
Walz is using Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg as a stand-in for Vance, while Vance is practising with Rep. Tom Emmer, the House majority whip and a fellow Minnesotan, to counter Walz’s “folksy” style.
Vance has mostly been preparing at home in Cincinnati with the help of his wife, Usha, and Trump campaign adviser Jason Miller, according to a source familiar with his preparations.
