Former US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy

Former US President Donald Trump raised eyebrows with his comments on the Russia-Ukraine war after described Ukraine as “pitiful” and “mournful,” referring to its people as “dead” and the country as “demolished.”
In a recent speech in North Carolina, Trump argued that Ukraine should have made concessions to Russian President Vladimir Putin before the invasion in February 2022.He criticized President Biden for supporting Ukraine’s defense instead of encouraging territorial concessions to Russia.
“Any deal — the worst deal — would’ve been better than what we have now,” Trump said. “If they made a bad deal it would’ve been much better. They would’ve given up a little bit and everybody would be living and every building would be built and every tower would be aging for another 2,000 years.”
During his visit to the US for the UN General Assembly, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed his doubts about Trump’s ability to end the war, stating that “Trump doesn’t really know how to stop the war, even if he might think he does.”
In response, Trump said, “We need to have a quick discussion about this because the president of Ukraine is in our country, throwing little nasty remarks at your favourite president—me.”

Zelenskyy will soon present the White House with a “victory plan” for the war, which is expected to include a request for long-range Western weapons to target Russian positions.
Meanwhile, Trump blamed the Biden-Harris administration for the ongoing conflict, claiming that “Biden egged it all on by pledging to help Ukraine rather than pushing it to cede territory,” and that “Biden and Kamala allowed this to happen by giving Zelenskyy money and munitions on an unprecedented scale.”
While Trump focused his criticism on Biden’s approach, he did not directly criticize Russian President Vladimir Putin’s justification for the invasion, although he acknowledged that Putin is “no angel.”
