NEW DELHI: The market valuation of nine of the top-10 most valued companies increased by Rs 2,01,552.69 crore last week, with Bharti Airtel emerging as the biggest gainer. Sensex, the BSE benchmark index, surged 1,707.01 points or 2.10 per cent during the week, reaching its all-time high of 83,116.19 on Thursday.
Bharti Airtel’s market capitalization increased by Rs 54,282.62 crore, reaching Rs 9,30,490.20 crore, making it the top gainer while ICICI Bank‘s valuation also increased Rs 29,662.44 crore, taking its total market cap to Rs 8,80,867.09 crore.
Other major gainers included Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), which added Rs 23,427.12 crore to its valuation, reaching Rs 16,36,189.63 crore, and Hindustan Unilever, whose market cap soared by Rs 22,438.6 crore to Rs 6,89,358.33 crore. HDFC Bank’s valuation also zoomed by Rs 22,093.99 crore, taking its total market cap to Rs 12,70,035.77 crore.
Infosys, ITC, Reliance Industries, and State Bank of India also witnessed significant gains in their market valuations, adding Rs 17,480.49 crore, Rs 15,194.17 crore, Rs 9,878.19 crore, and Rs 7,095.07 crore, respectively. However, Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) was the only company among the top-10 to experience a decline in its market cap, which fell by Rs 3,004.38 crore to Rs 6,54,004.76 crore.
Reliance Industries maintained its position as the most valued company, followed by TCS, HDFC Bank, Bharti Airtel, ICICI Bank, Infosys, State Bank of India, Hindustan Unilever, LIC, and ITC.
