US vice-president and Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris, in a post on social media, revealed that she worked at fast food chains as a teenager. Kamala in her post, recalled her upbringing in a middle-class household and her mother’s decade-long effort to buy a home.

“I was a teenager when the day finally came—and I can still remember how excited she was,” she shared in a post on X.Harris also mentioned her own experience working at McDonald’s during college to earn spending money.
“That only gets harder when the cost of living goes up,” she emphasised, underscoring the increasing economic struggles faced by many Americans today. Harris promised to prioritise efforts to reduce living costs and enhance economic security for all if she is elected President.
Her nomination was confirmed after receiving overwhelming support in a virtual roll call of delegates, as announced by the Democratic National Committee. With the convention upcoming, voters are eager to learn more about her stances on various key issues.
Harris’ economic policies include supporting the middle class through mortgage assistance and tax credits for parents, as reported by BBC. On immigration, Kamala aims to address the root causes of migration from Central America and has shifted towards bipartisan border security solutions.
Kamala is a strong advocate for reproductive rights and has promised to protect them nationwide. She also supports Nato and continued aid to Ukraine while upholding Israel’s right to self-defence.
Regarding taxes, Kamala Harris opposes tax increases for those earning under $400,000 and supports raising the corporate tax rate. She aims to expand healthcare access without eliminating private insurance.
Harris also supports gun safety regulations, including red-flag laws, to prevent gun violence.
