Donald Trump married Melania, who is originally from Slovenia, in 2005.The couple soon learned they were expecting a child. Barron was primarily raised in the family‘s luxurious penthouse in New York City and attended prestigious private schools on Manhattan’s Upper West Side.
When Donald Trump assumed the presidency in January 2017, Melania and Barron stayed in Manhattan so he could complete the academic year. During the summers, Barron would move to the White House to spend time with the rest of his family.
Over the years, Melania has attempted to keep Barron out of the public eye. However, with more attention now on him, a video of a four-year-old Barron speaking with a Slovenian accent has gone viral on X, formerly known as Twitter. The video is from the Trumps’ April 2010 appearance on CNN’s Larry King Live.
“Here’s footage of Barron speaking at the age of 4—with a Slovenian accent,” an X user shared, referring to the viral clip.
In the video, Melania prompts young Barron to say, “Hi Larry.” The child enthusiastically waves at the camera and moves around the office as his parents keep an eye on him.
Barron then picks up his suitcase and says in a clipped tone, “I like my suitcase,” and asks Melania if he needs to go to school. She responds, “Yeah, you will have lunch and then you go to school.”
Later in the video, Barron can be seen kneeling in front of his open luggage. His father comments, “Now you can do reading, writing, and arithmetic.”
As the video concludes, Larry King notes that Barron “has an accent.”
“He does,” Melania confirms, explaining that Barron spends most of his time with her.
On being asked about his son’s accent, Trump says, “I think it’s great. Anything he does is OK with me.”
Melania also reveals that Barron speaks three languages, prompting Trump to call him the “smart one.”
The video, which showcases Barron’s early years and family interactions, has reignited public interest in the young Trump amid his father’s political endeavours.
