Captured moments after the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump, a newly released bodycam footage shows Secret Service agents and local law enforcement officers gathered near the gunman’s dead body.
The three-minute video was recorded on the body-worn camera of an officer from the Beaver County Emergency Services Unit
The video reveals a trail of blood in the vicinity of the deceased shooter, who has been identified as Thomas Matthew Crooks, a 20-year-old individual.Crooks managed to fire shots at the former president from a rooftop vantage point during an outdoor rally in Pennsylvania, which took place 10 days prior to the release of the footage.
The attack resulted in the death of one audience member, Corey Comperatore, aged 50, while two others, David Dutch and James Copenhaver, both 57, sustained severe injuries but are currently in stable condition. The emergence of this new footage coincides with the resignation of US Secret Service director Kim Cheatle, following security lapses related to the assassination attempt.
The bodycam video, recorded by the Butler County Emergency Services Unit, was shared on the social media platform X by the office of Republican senator Chuck Grassley.

In the video, a Secret Service agent can be heard referring to the shooter’s body, saying, “A Beaver County sniper seen and sent the pictures out, this is him.” An officer inquires about the photos, asking the agent, “I don’t know if you got the same ones I did?” The agent confirms, “I think I did, yeah, he’s [the shooter] got his glasses on.” The officer further elaborates, mentioning that the sniper “sent the original pictures, and seen him (the shooter) come from the bike, and set the book bag down, and then lost sight of him”.
