An escalator fire on Wednesday morning, at Terminal 8 of John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York lead to temporary evacuation.
According to the Fire department of New York officials, the incident was reported around 7 am and no injuries were reported.
The terminal operations had resumed by 8.15 am, as confirmed by a spokesperson for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
A passenger on a plane that was stalled on the tarmac captured video footage and shared it on X, showing multiple fire trucks surrounding the area.

Terminal 8 serves several airlines, including American Airlines, British Airways, Cathay Pacific and Qantas.
Sharing a post on X, the JFK airport advised passengers that the Terminal 8 has been experiencing disruptions to its flight operations. The airport said: “Flight operations at Terminal 8 have been impacted. Please check with your airline to determine the status of your flight.”
